I can't find any Harry Alderman medal cards.

    There are service records for
    Harry Alderman b abt 1887
    Harry James Alderman b 1885
    Harry Maynard Alderman b 1887
    Harry Ronald Alderman
    Harry Thomas Alderman b 1894

Do any of these seem likely?

Found him on the National Archives site:

        Medal card of Alderman, Harry
        Corps: Lincolnshire Regiment
        Regiment No: 10485
        Rank: Private...

The National Archives | DocumentsOnline | World War One medal cards

but it's not coming up on the Ancestry medal card index for some reason.

The Harry Alderman born 1887 that Nell found was in the Dorsetshire Regiment, and has a different service number.

I'm afraid medal cards don't give a lot of information (they don't give the man's age, and rarely an address).

This page explains how to interpret them:

Mary thanks he is the only one on my tree i have found whose medal records survived. As you say not much information but at least i know he received 3 medals and was in Gallipoli (Dardanelles)
