cant un-mute my sound

it will not let me un-mute and if i right click on it it will not even open volume mixer anyone no how to do it?

Louise do you have Navida (sp) sound card buy any chance , as updates ages ago pinched my sounds I can only hear then through headphones not speakers ???

You could try Right clicking on the desktop & on the menu that drops down click Personalize. There is a section there on Sounds where you can alter settings. It might work.

i have done a system restore which failed lol but the sound is back on now
