  • Missing on censuses, Suffolk

    Thomas Thurman/Thirman b 1806 Woodbridge/Gt Bealings, Suffolk.
He is with daughter Eliza Maddison as a widower
    on 1861 RG9/1168/120b/15
    and on 1871 RG10/1758/131/19

He is listed on IGI, daughter's baptism as Thomas Thirman with mother Mary Ann.
He is listed again on IGI, marriage 1828 to Marianne Stannard as Thomas Thurman

Please can anyone find him on 1841 and 1851 census?

I think I have the daughter Eliza on the 41 and 51 as servant but am not convinced.

She is not with the family in 1841 - at least not the one I found.

                          Sorry
OH arrived just as I posted this and dinner called.:D

Thank you so much Elaine. I had searched Martlesham and The bealings Great and Little, page by page. Woodbridge was a bit big to search with my eyes as they were. Funny ancestry came up with nothing like with THU* for me.

Have some more for you later, :D

Hi, I know this blog was written years ago but I've just stumbled across it doing my own family history research. I was also interested in an Eliza Thurman born in suffolk. I have discovered she was a single mother of my great great grandfather George Thomas Thurman b1845 and that we took on the Thurman name because of a Thurman daughter. There is no father listed on George Thomas Thurmans birth certificate. I'm interested in what you have researched about Eliza Thurman because from census records I have found she was listed as a daughter to a George Thurman, a widower. On a christening record I got of Elizas it also said her mothers name was Mary Ann which makes me think we might be talking about the same Eliza, only the fathers name is different. Would love to see if theres any connection here so if anyone is still out there using this blog I would love to hear from you!
