Can anyone read this?

I got a marriage certificate in the post today, but I can't for the life of me read the fathers rank/profession - I should tell you that a chunk of the certificate had actually been cut off from about two thirds of the way into the fathers rank/profession box (very useful, thanks GRO! ) so I don't know if theres part of the word missing or what!





Any help would be very appreciated!
