  • FYI - ancestry.ca - canadian passenger lists

Just watched a video on The Toronto Sun website which said ancestry.ca now have a fully indexed official collection of Canadian ship records - the Canadian Passenger Lists: 1865-1935. The thing that got me was the mention of the 1500 transcribers in Beijing, China.

It does say they are paleographers which impies that they know what they're doing.

Quote from Wiki: The palaeographer must know the language of the text and the historical usage of various styles of handwriting. Knowledge of writing materials is also essential to the ancient study of handwriting and the identification of the periods in which they are written.

      I'm not convinced though...
