  • Baptism C 1758 Appreciate Help

I am hoping that someone can help with the baptism for Daniel Marshall. He married in 1781 in Bedford, children born Finsbury. I can't find anything on IGI. Presume his birth around 1758.

I would appreciate any help so I can go further with this one.

    Thanks very much,

    regards,

Treesa, do you know when he died? Death cert or burial - or even a census entry - might help with figuring out when he would have been born. Also if he is on the census then it should say where he was born, although if he is only on the 1841 it might not help much?

Sorry, nothing on him I'm afraid. Apart from a bapt for his son where he is named as father. Perhaps I should have asked for a census lookup.

Just got back onto this line after a long absence and refreshing my memory!

How do you know he married in Bedford? What about his wife's name and the children?

If its the same chap he moved around a bit. Did his son's baptism record his occupation?

But, Christine, I would think Daniel Marshall is a pretty common name, so it seems unlikely that would be him unless we have a reason for thinking he came from Yorkshire, don't you think?

I think that's a very fair comment. I should have made it clear that he was simply a compatible find, if rather geographically distant, not a definite solution to the challenge.

I have son James bapt in Finsbury, naming parents as Daniel and Edith. There is only one marr for these two on IGI, in Bedford.

I like the reference to this 'CHallenge' as I know people on here like a challenge!
