  • 1891/1901 lookup please.

    Could someone check up on Thomas Baulch born about 1888 in Paddington. His mother should be Elizabeth and father Richard. What I need to know is Richard’s age and place of birth.

    There is a Thomas Arthur Baulch on the 1901 for Scotland

    Name - Thomas Arthur Baulch
    Age - 12, Born England
    Mother - Elizabeth

      Just checked can't see them in 1891, will keep looking

        What I'm trying to determine is if this family is one and the same, which according to a contact it is. I'm not so sure...

        Can't find a death for a Fanny or a Hannah Baulch but ony have FreeBMD. My contact says her Richard Baulch was a soldier and born the same year as mine (1849 in Chard)

            Well i've found Fanny and Richard and family in 1891.

            Richard b.1849 Chard, Somerset occ - Mason - RG12; Piece: 1666; Folio 81; Page 12

            there is also a
            Richard b.1850 Beer, Somerset Occ - Ag Lab, RG12; Piece: 1890; Folio 91; Page 5
            Elizabeth b.1845
            Edith M b.1872
            Albert E b.1874

            but no sign of Richard as a soilder

              Yes that fits perfectly Vikki. I don't think it is the same family. Unless he had two families (lol) -

                I have found both of these Richards (Chard and Beer) in 1881, neither working as soilder

                    I think the likelihood could be one family is the Richard the soldier family in Scotland with possibly the birth that Margaret found for Thomas - will have to see what my contact says - and the Chard family is different. Contact doesn't seem to have marriage cert for her Richard which would help to sort things out! Anway I'm pretty happy that if her Richard married Elizabeth Baker in 1885 according to FreeBMD then he can't be the one alive and kicking with Fanny in Chard in 1891. Thanks ladies
