Ormskirk Workhouse death registers are at the Lancashire Record Office. Not sure if they would contain information about burials, but I thought most workhouses had their own chapel and burial grounds.

If she died in the workhouse because she was a "pauper" then I would think she would be buried in the parish, but if she died there because it was effectively the local hospital, and her family could actually afford to pay for her burial, then she would be buried wherever her family decided to have her buried.

The GRO index does list a death for a Margaret Cobham Jul-Sep 1860 Ormskirk district. Could that be her?

You say she possibly died after childbirth - can I ask why you think this?

                      1861 census shows
                      Thurston Cobham age 40
                      Mary Cobham age 32
                      Christopher Cobham age 5
                      Jane Cobham age 10

                      living North Meols, Southport

Is this your family? Is Mary a second wife?

If it is the right family then Mary is still alive in 1871

(If you don't have access to Ancestry to view the census then I can give you a transcription).
