Hi and welcome to Family Tree Forum!

You can obtain certificates by post from Dublin. There's a page about it in our Wiki (online help section, see the tab on the blue bar above):

We have a few members who know lots about Irish research......hopefully you will get some more informative replies later!! lol

            Hi,
There is an entry for your Bridget's birth record on Cavan Genealogy - Online Searching of Irish ancestral and genealogy records (Births, Deaths, Marriages) for Co. Cavan
and you can download a transcript for 5 euros. It will give parents names and possibly an occupation for the father.
            Hope this helps.

Just a word of warning - the transcripts you download from teh IFHF site don't always include what you'd expect to get.

They are just reflections of the parish records which can at times be very short. I have a few baptisms from there that don't give both parents names and sometime don't give either parent - just the godparents. Marriages can be equally disappointing.

They have now specified in the search whether the record is parish or civil, so the civil ones should give more information if you have a choice of two
