  • How do I find??

    Hi

This probably sounds very silly... but how do I find a specific census page on Ancestry.
When I go to the census's and zoom in on the 1841.. for example. It still asks me for names/birth place etc...
I have the piece/book/folio/page etc.. and just want to go straight to it, but can't find anywhere on Ancestry which will let me???
    Help!

I think the indexing of the 1841 is different from later censuses. And it all depends which bits of information Ancestry has chosen for indexing.

Surely all the census have the Piece/Folio/page box at the bottom of the search page?

I frequently use this search method, as do loads of other people on here, I know.

When you select 1841 census, are you seeing this.

If so just enter the details in the boxes that I have circled.
Same applies to any of the other censuses.

          Hi Elaine...

No I'm not seeing that at all... that's whats confusing me??
I'm on that new trial for Ancestry.... so think i might revert back to the old system and try again..
But if anyone can find this: and post a link I'd be really grateful!!

          1841 census:
          HO107; Piece 533; Book: 10; Folio: 8; Page: 10

          Thanks

The screenshot I gave was using the old Ancestry search facility.

                OC?
