  • Outgoing passenger lists 1883 Plymouth

I am trying to trace my family which left Plymouth on the Northern Monarch in Nov 1883 and arrived in Rockhampton, Australia in 1884. I can find arrival lists but no departure lists. Cannot find a birth in England in 1883 for John Smith so thought he may have been born on the ship. Any help would be appreciated.

Would his Australian death cert give a place of birth for him?

I am wondering how you know there's no birth cert for him in England in 1883? Do you know where they were living before they boarded the ship? What if the child was born during their journey to Plymouth? (I feel sorry for you as I have over 300 Smiths in my tree!!)

Thanks everyone. I have a death certificate which gives birthplace as Warwick, Warwickshire, but can find no birth record with his parents names, George Smith and Sarah nee Hall.

What are the parents' names? Or any other children?
