  • Death of Charles Lovell On Board the Celtic

Does anyone know what would have happened on board an immigrant ship to New York from Liverpool in 1902 if one of the passengers died ? I think this may have happened to my Great Grandfather Charles Penton Lovell of Boston Lincolnshire. I have no trace of him after a passenger list on the Celtic, but the entry was crossed out.

I don't think someone would be crossed off a passenger list because they died, without some comment in the margin!

Sounds to me more like he didn't travel.

      Where are you Charles ?

I think you may be right. Trouble is there are loads of Charles Lovell
deaths that could be him, but no Charles Penton Lovells. Now what ??
