  • ? about 1901 census

If I cannot find a whole family on this census, does it mean a page has not been transcribed
    Ann

That's possible, or perhaps they've just been mistranscribed. If you put up some details we can have a look for you

Do you have a date and place of birth for Charlotte?

It's okay, I've found them in 1891 in Woolwich and Charlotte was born there c.1862.
          Off to search 1901 now.

1891 family are living 9 Prospect Row, Woolwich
Richard Wynn 40 is a crane driver
              Charlotte Wynn 29
              Richard Wynn 6
              Eleanor Wynn 4
              Adelaide Wynn 2
              Amy Wynn 1 wk

I looked for Amy born 1891 +/- a year with mother Charlotte and Woolwich as keyword but drew a blank.

              Off to try again.

                    Can't find Richard or R W either.

Can only assume they are very badly mistranscribed, or changed their names completely or emigrated or are on a damaged/missing page.

TNA catalogue only has 2 enumeration districts, in Deal, Kent, described as "missing on transfer".

I do remember when 1901 first came out that I was convinced my Smoothy family were in Deal. Found them eventually, mistranscribed as Lenorthey!

i know they were still around in 1893 as my grandad Henry was born to Charlotte. I think I found the father Richard in 1901 at St James Soup kitchen in London and then he died around 1915 in Dartford Kent. As to the rest of the family it is a mystery.

Hi Ann. Nice to know someone else has 'Wynn' in their tree.
Unfortunately it must be a different branch - my lot are in Hampshire!

I was looking at this a few hours ago, but didn't find anything. There's a death in 1914 which looked like it might be the dad's (aged 64), and it was still in Kent.
