  • Hunt's Directory?

Does anyone know where I can find a list of exactly what areas are covered in Hunt's directories please?

Googling shows that there were Hunts' directories for Berkshire, Dorsetshire, Gloucestershire & Bristol and Somersetshire so I would assume they coverered every county, or at least the mid & south west of England.

Can't find Hunts but if you go to the advertising forum & go through to Family History Quests, Clare has loads of directories listed.

            Thanks for all your replies.

I finally got around yesterday to clearing out some of my old notes from my early days of researching. I came across a list of useful search places and Hunt's Directory was on there, but with no web address etc.

I found reference to a Dorset one by googling and E. Norfolk came up on a google book search, referring me to Archive CD books. I thought I might have more luck if I googled specific titles.

            I'll keep googling.

There are these three on the Historial Directories website.

              Hunt & Co's Directory of Gloucester & Bristol, 1849

Hunt & Co.'s Directory of Bristol and South Wales, 1850

Hunt & Co.'s Directory of Dorset, Hants, Wilts, Som, 1851

                Thanks Merry.

I had tried a search by location "Wiltshire" on Historical Directories and it didn't come up under that.

The Archive Cd Books range does not include any Hunts Directories.
