  • Is there a way

    Is there a way of setting a program to always open in a certain screen frame
    size, I have two programs that when I open them they are to big for the window (using vista) and I have been told to use them with screen resolution to at least 1024x768. At the moment the only way I can do this is to do it before I start to open them , but can I alter something that they open up in those setting without disturbing other things that I'm using ie this site ???

    Is there anything in the Options Menu of the program that allows you to change the settings?
    Wendy

    PLEASE SCAN AT 300-600 DPI FOR RESTORATION PURPOSES. THANK YOU!

      When it opens Wendy carnt see the top of page to see if there is a file edit help part to it so it has to be something I can do before it opens I tried changing it to open in minimised window but it still opened full size ;;
      Whats annoying Im sure I had a page where I could alter the setting once before but carnt remember how I got to it

        Ok borobabs, please bear with me here....

        Firstly, what is the physical size of your screen?

        If you don't know, grab a ruler/tape measure and measure the distance from one corner to the oposite corner of the screen (DIAGONALLY). Do not include the plastic outer frame/bezel when messuring.

                  Then the Native Resolution of your screen is 1280x1024 and this is what your computer should always be set to.

                  Please check you settings for me and let me know.

                        Ok, try this... (no promises)

                        Set the resolution to 1280x1024, then change the DPI to the "Large" setting (i think it is 120 dpi).

                        Failing that try 1024x768 with "Large" 120 dpi

                        To change DPI click here...

                            FYI, have just tried 800x600 96DPI on a 17in panel i have here and compared it to 1280x1024 120DPI on the same panel and they are virtually the same sized text, with the later being have the better picture.

                                Ok, go back to the screen where you change the DPI and select the normal setting again. As you cannot see the OK button, hit Return on the keyboard instead - this will do the same thing.

                                What you should have done was to set the screen resolution to 1280x1024 FIRST then changed the DPI setting AFTERWARDS.
