    Scottish Census lookup please

    I have William Gilray born c1846-52 in Glasgow, Scotland. I have found him in 1901 aged 49 in Bolton, Lancs with family, a Kitchen Range Fitter; in 1891, he is aged 45, same address with family, a Whitesmith and 1881 in Salford, unmarried boarder, aged 34, a Whitesmith.
    I cannot find him in 1871 so think he must still be in Scotland. Can someone with access to Scottish 1871 census please have a look for me.
    Thanks in advance.

    PS: He comes up as GILROY on a couple of census.

    Lynne, you do know that the Scottish censuses transcriptions are available on ancestry, don't you? Just thought I should check!
