    Can anyone date and identify this uniform? I have no idea who it is.

    Looks like Royal Field Artillery

    RFA on his shoulder ... I think

    Not modern enough to be WW2

      Rachel beat me to it. I was googling Royal Fleet Auxhilliary too but I think its definitely the artillery, looks more army than navy

          Margaret he looks like a corporal to me!! But I am no expert. The RFA merged into the Royal Artillery in 1924 so maybe this photo predates that merger. He looks very smart doesnt he?

              This shows a Bombardier of the Royal Field Artillery and the photograph would date from the first world war period and just beyond to 1924. The badge that he wears in the middle of the chevron's is a trade badge denoting that he was employed as an Armourer so his rank would possibly have been entitled as Armourer-Bombardier the equivalent of this would be an
              Armourer-Corporal in other regiments of the British Army.
