A Canadian relative has just emailed me a copy of her work on the family tree. It is in a downloadable file .wpd and it won't open on my PC. Any ideas please?

All done now, thanks to my son-in-law who converted the files for me.

Looks as if it is a Corel WordPerfect office format file.

Microsoft Word should try and open it.

If you don't have Word then ask her to send it as a text file.

      Thanks Wendy.

I do have Microsoft Word, but it won't open it. Should I still ask her to resend it as a text file? Not sure that she'll know what I'm talking about though - she is 84 years old! Maybe I should get her to ask her grandson (who is her PC mentor) to try to send it in another format.
