  • Davies/Davis family North Wales to West Bromwich

    Hello all

My 5xG Grandfather Jacob Davis was born 1823 in North Wales (unsure which county) and married my 5xG Greandmother Mary Jones (I know, Jones and Davis:D) in West Bromwich on the 2nd June 1846.

I have Jacob and Mary on all the census except the 1841.

Jacob's father was named John Davis and was a Miner like his son.

Mary's father was named John Jones and was also a Miner, Mary was born in Bilston Staffordshire in 1826.
There was also a lady named Phebe Jones on Mary's marriage cert.

Can anybody find either family on the 1841 census?

    Any help would be fantastic

    Danny

Mary Jones was born in Bilston Staffordshire in 1826 and Jacob Davis was born 1823 in North Wales.

On the census it only ever states North Wales.

            Hey Gwen

I cant seem to find the Mary you posted about?

By the 1851 census Jacob had alreadt married and was not at home so im unsure of any siblings names.

I only know he and his father John were Miners.

There are quite a few Bilston entries on FreeReg, including a few Mary Joneses baptised in 1825/6.

This one looks like a possible; father's a miner called John, mother's Anne.

                                    Baptisms / 02 Oct 1825 / JONES Mary / Staffordshire / Bilston

There's a Phebe Jones baptised in Bilston in 1828, parents John and Anne, father's a collier, so she could be Mary's sister.

The second one you posted with the father John a Miner, was that on the IGI?
