Disconnecting broadband cable ..

When we go away I always unplug the computer from the power point as I do when there is an electrical storm.
Now that I have broadband, is it wise to disconnect the ethernet cable from the phone outlet to the computer also even though the modem will be off?

I never unplug any of it, but I do have a Power Surge box attached to Computer and TV, so I think its ok to leave.

You just need to unplug the cable that goes between the phone outlet and the modem.
