  • 1901 census lookup request

I have only one record I need to see from the 1901 census, so it is a waste to be forced to purchase 500 credits just to see it.

Is anyone willing to look up the residence and people with one.

Herbert H Pursglove, age 10. Born in London and is on the census in Newport monmouthshire.

The whole of his family were in their home in London, so I want to find out who he was with to clear up a puzzle.

    Many thanks

      Madelina was born in London.

Alfred H. son was a Commercial Clerk and born in Germany, a French subject.

Many thanks for such a quick reply.

            Now I'm really puzzled.

Henry's mother was Nanetta Phillipa Baker.
She married Frederick Pursglove. Frederick was a Roofing Felt maker.
They are on the 1901, but Nanetta is listed as Martha.

Henry's uncles and aunts were a total of six.
None of which married into the Degardins family
Uncle Albert married Mary Ann Hatley
Uncle Henry married Sarah Annie Dewey
Aunt Emma married John Thomas Tadd
            Uncle George died 1893 unmarried
Uncle Arthur married Alice Cavender in 1927
Auntie Mary married William Deedman in 1903

So how is he listed as their nephew??

            Any Degardins researchers out there?

            Thanks again

There is a Henry Degardins born in France as a boarder in Highbury Islington on the 1891 census. He is 19 so too old to be their son, but perhaps another connection?

I love the names - Madelina and Nanetta, very unusual. It also makes them much easier to trace.

Where was Nanetta born? Perhaps she was a cousin and not a sister. I think "nephew" could be a very loose term.
