Making 2 photos into one, help needed

Can anyone help me make 2 photos into one please? I want to sell an item, which converts into something else & want to show what it looks like in both forms, but in the same picture, like a split screen. Is this possible & does anyone know how to do it please?

Erm I don't know that I use any, I do my resizing on Irfanview & also have Ulead photo explorer, if that is what you mean.
