The 1891 is no better as it says somewhere in Derbyshire.

I've given up on it. I've just noted Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire on FTM

                              I've found Walter in 1861, I think.

                              RG9/405 fo 152 p 34

He's given a PoB of Fairlight, Sussex (transcribed as Fanlight!), but there's a Charles Haywood on the line above, whose PoB is "Nots, Loudham". I haven't followed it up (to see if there really is a Charles Haywood, b Lowdham 1838-9), but it seems likely to be an enumerator error.

I was trying to see if I could spot a reason for him to be in Yorkshire for Mary Ann's birth. To be fair, the children do all seem to be born in different places, so he must have been travelling around, chasing work.

I tried the IGI, just using parents' names. It gives:

Ada S. ROCKLEY Birth 1868 Lowdham
                                Martha ROCKLEY Birth 1869 Nottm
Mary Ann Rockley Christening: 04 AUG 1874 Parish Church Of, Hope, Derby

The first two are from Batch U000948 - presumably some kind of submission, so not very reliable. Maybe even based on a census - though the others don't appear.
