Sorry - don´t know. The details I have are from the marriage certificate.

They were married in Dec 1901 - residence on MC given as Old Sodbury, Gloucestershire.
I cannot find Oliver Allibone in 1901 but it´s possible he was away in Army at the time.

This looks a possibility for 1881:
            RG11/3137 folio 59 pge 13
Its in Appleby, Leicestershire, father, James was 24 and a collier (could well have been promoted to a foreman by the time Mary married)

I can see that James in 1901 - he is a coal miner (hewer below ground).
                Mary not with family.

That was the one I was about to post! Too slow! As I was trying to tie it up with the 1901 census. :(

Can you see the Mary from that family in 1901.

                          - born Appleby, Leic c1878

If she was born in Appleby, the registration district would have been Ashby de la Zouch.

The freeBMD entry was Bingham - any idea what area that covers?

I think the Mary Wallis born Appleby c1878 (that we have found above) may have married John Guilford

                            Marriages Jun 1900
                            Guilford John William
                            Wallis Mary
                            Ashby Z. 7a 229

Oops sorry Elizabeth, should have said - although not sure its the right one yet!

Have found the same family in 1891 (although father James now claims to have been born in Staleybridge, Lancs!)
