    Danny,

If the date is before about 1930 you should be able to find it on freebmd. With the index number you can order it the cheapest way, through the GRO.

          Hey Libby

I didnt realise that it took me to another link to order. And its a long story but i usually only order from cheshire reg office which is 2 mins away from my apartment.
Anyway i have just discovered the magic of the GRO and only paying £7 from freebmd instead of £10.

Needless to say i am now slightly more advanced:D

You wouldnt think id been doing this for nearly 2years:o
Im only just really branching out of cheshire, that is not scotland or ireland which im very good at now.

          Sorry to waffle on.

Danny.....I've only ever bought from GRO....easiest from Australia.
I've never needed a date, just the year and the reference numbers.

            Now....what were saying about Ireland??????????

              Hey Libby

There is a circle that i didnt see that i should have clicked on to say i knew the GRO ref number.

Yeah im pretty good with my northern ireland research now and im just starting with my southern irish research now.
