  • Can any one read this please?

    I am hopeing this is the death cert of my gtgt grandmother, if not its my first wrong cert.

    Could anyone read what she died of please and also the word under the name Sarah Holmes

    and Sarah Holmes possibly Nurse?
    Judith passed away in October 2018

      I think it says Consumption and under Sarah Holmes Nurse.

            If you could look at the census before she died and see if a Sarah Holmes lived near your GG Grandmother and that might help especially if she is down as a nurse. I would have thought they wouldn't have travelled far to help some one.

              The death was 1838 Lin and her 11 year old son was in the workhouse on the 1841 census.

                Don't you find some sad things while doing your family history. I seen your G Grandmother was a widow and obviously her son was on his own and ended up in the workhouse.

                  You do find some sad things, though i am not sure why the son William ended up in the workhouse as a pauper, because his elder sister was staying with their grandfather, along with Alice, Hannah and Emma Green. William went on to marry Alice and i have yet to find what happened to the Green girls parents.

                    Possible that he was in the workhouse as a patient not an inmate. Workhouses were also hospitals.
