  • Wrong marriage ref; can anyone double check for me.

On Free BMD and on Ancestry. Nothing on Yorks BMD
    Eliza Ellen Lund
    Saddleworth 9a 250.
    March qtr 1861

The other three are Todmorden registrations.

Looking at the original I make it 9a 280

Looking at 9a 280 Saddleworth March qtr 1861 there is a female missing, could it be her?
Could you check the original to see if you agree
    Many thanks

How lovely to see an original handwritten index, I thought they'd all been replaced.
It does look like a modern 5 but compared with the 5 above it, which has a very flourishy top line, and then the line of the 8 below, it looks as though its an 8 with the upstroke too faded to see.

So I think you are right.

      Thanks Nell.
Just had a think about it and went off to check census. If she married March qtr 1861 then she would have been married then and come up with a Eliza Ellen married to a James Hall, living in Saddleworth, and he is one of the names on 9a 280, so I think I will order 9a 280.
