  • Help badly needed please

    Hi

I have been trying to find my gg gmother Mary Agnes Sillitoe. She says she was born Cheshire c 1864. She married William Hayes in Liverpool 1882. She put done she was age 20. Her father on the cert is William Sillitoe, Labourer. I have never been able to find her on any census except under her married name. I can't find a birth reg or death for her, although she may have married again as I think her husband died early.

If I had found a birth reg I would buy the cert. There are a number of Sillitoe's in Sudbury, and I have found possibles in Oldbury, Worcs but nothing concrete.

She is the hardest person I have ever tried to find and thought I would ask on here before I give up!

Findmypast said there may be a Mary A SILITOE with father William in Barnston, Cheshire but I am not on findmypast.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

          transcribed as SILITON on Ancestry

Who were the witnesses on the marriage certificate - any names which might help?
What was her address on the certificate?

Hi Allan, a nice lady found it for me,her name was Catherine Fleetwood and she found her death as well in 1838, she may have died in childbirth, the lady also found other children.

Trying to trace the 1861 family forwards - eventually found them in 1871 transcribed as Tilletoe! :(

                  - at least I think it's the same family - mum hasn't aged and Mary has disappeared!

No they are in Liverpool - father William is a dock labourer.

Sorry just edited my previous post. Mary is not with the family and the mother's age doesn't quite match as she has remained at 24, same as 1861 census, although William has aged an extra two years to 41 (was 29 on the 1861 census).

I am not subscribed to ancestry at the moment, came off it 2 weeks ago. Is it being too cheeky to ask for transcription details for the 61 and 71 census?

                        What transcription errors too!

                            - as you can see the ages don't quite add up and Mary changed to Margaret
                            - so not 100% sure its the same family - but there's not many of them about!

Not sure if this is helping at all as nothing to tie the family in - but this could be same family in 1881

No its definitely Margaret on the image. Of course it could have been a mistake by the enumerator.
