I cannot do a web search on FTM keep getting the message application failed cannot find files ????
So I decided to reinstall the disc
I then installed the Charting Companion which I had not done before
it installed okay then searched for FTM Files
I then got this box come up

Files that are required for windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognised versions

What on earth does this mean as my pc is running quite well I thought
And I dont have the disc anyway ??????????

Basically this is SFC (System File Checker) a built-in safety measure to prevent malicious programs from damaging critical system files.

It has obviously came up before something is trying to overwrite an important system file, which I would consider suspicious.

In the root of your C: drive do u have a folder called I386?

I have uninstalled the companion charting Dave maybe it was that ?? do you think as I had not installed it before

I just tried a web search Dave and it worked so maybe it was that new chart thingy ??? I am not going to try and install it again
I must say though I found lots of hidden folders I did not know I had, I might have a clear out
one was Microsoft Anti Spyware never even knew I had that in there
