  • Trying to find deaths.

I know you all must be sick of this lot ( I know I am).
    I have two questions.

    1.
OH's gg grandfather, Myles Kirkby Ariel came to Australia in 1853 with his wife Emily (Weaver) and three children.
Myles has not been seen since.
Emily remarried in Australia in 1863 as a widow.
A cousin has just told me her grandmother (since passed away) told her years ago that Myles took off with Emily's sister, Julia......and Julia died in the 1870s in Germany.
Does anyone know where I might be able to find that death?

    2.
The above Myles' sister, Mary Eyre Ariel, born 1834 Bristol.

She's on every census except 1901. Still not married in the 1891.
I've trawled marriages up to 1920.
I've trawled deaths to 1940. She can't have been older than 106!!

I've tried both Ariel and Eyre in case they were mixed up.

So I think she may have gone overseas. She didn't come to Australia.

I've tried everything I can think of on Ancestry.

    Any ideas???

You could try the British overseas deaths on Findmypast or Familyrelatives.

Julia's death was probably registered in Germany under their registration laws, and there is not much German stuff online, so I think you would have to find out which part of Germany she died in and contact the authorities for that area.

Nothing to do with this (probably!), but did some of your Ariels go to Canada?

                Thanks L.

KiteRunner...I'm still on that quest. Of course the pesron who had the info has since died and nobody was interested at the time.

Merry...yes...same family. That Myles is actually Myles Ariel Beale. His mother, Julia Evill was a cousin of "missing Agatha". Julia's mother was another Agatha Ariel one generation back.
