  • Alice Sabina Gadd-- where might she be buried please?

    Hello everyone!

this is the information I do have-- I am wondering if someone could make a suggestion as to where I might find where she is buried?

Alice Sabina GADD death registered Brighton central ,14th October 1936
At Brighton Municipal Hospital, Elm Grove
Age 78 years of 12 Temple Street, Brighton, Spinster, no occupation
daughter of Richard Symonds GADD a farmer (deceased).

Informant:- Emma K. WARRACK, sister, of Mile End, Lambourn, Berks.
    Registered 15th October 1936.

I have looked at find My Past, NBI, Ancestry UK,

and am now going to Brighton /Hove site to see if they might have anything there.

Your suggestions are always welcome---Thanks Everyone

Have been very busy with 10 year old grandson who is visiting with us for the next 2 months-- and am loving it!! Only get to have his company every 2 years---but today I have time of my own to do some genealogy--;)

    Cheers Pat

She was a spinster, so not buried in grave with husband!

Presumably her sister would have arranged her burial, which would either be somewhere local to where Alice lived, or a cemetery/churchyard with an already-existing family grave.

I'm guessing it would be most likely to be a cemetery near where she lived. If you are going to Brighton you could look in the local newspapers for a funeral notice or obituary.

At that date the chances are she will be at a cemetery rather than a churchyard. I would start here:

Don't forget, she could have been cremated.
