  • Ophir???

What does Ophir mean? I googled it but am still a bit confused.

This is what i found on an Australian elctoral roll...

    1925 roll
453- Annie Bennion, Ophir, Logan rd, opposite sheds, home duties, F
454- Margaret Mercy Bennion, Ophir, Logan rd, stenographer, F
455- Thomas Bennion, Ophir, Logan rd, opposite sheds, M
456- Thomas Archibald Bennion, Enville, Denshen st, railway employee

    1925 second print
says the same as above but Thomas Archibald is listed as, Ophir, Logan Rd

    I’m no genealogist …
Until this year I spelled it “GeneOlogist!"

        I'd say it's a building name.

My OH used to live in Rawnsley St ( a couple of entries down) and all the old places have names.

Next time I'm around that way, I could have a look.
