    Humphrey Gregory Pridden was had up in 1875 for perjury.

    His occupation was.... sausage skin and violin string maker. Feeding the belly as well as the soul.

    I can see how the two trades use the same basic product, but wonder what his premises were like!

    (And in his spare time, he designed mangles!)

      I'd imagined this up market little shop, a few violins scattered around, where you bought your strings.

      My C21st brain hadn't understood why he had surrounded himself with sausage skin makers and tripe dealers.
