Slow pages

I know this is an old chestnut but maybe someone has an answer now.

Why are the pages so slow to turn on this site? It can be quick one moment and then suddenly decide to go sooooo sloooooow :( The circle goes round for so long sometimes that I get the Page Cannot be Displayed message.

Can anyone advise please as it's taking all the pleasure out of the site, especially on the quizzes forum? I know it's effecting others too.

I would add that it only happens on this site. Other web sites are ok.

I've been getting this too Joy, but its been happening on other sites too.

It's to do with broadband download speed ie too many people in your area on the line.
Check speed at Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test
I'm on 2megbit Im lucky to get 1.5 upload and even less on download
