Hello
One of my Broadfoot's named Elizabeth McQueen Broadfoot married a man by the name of Thomas Burnie Robertson in 1862 in Liverpool, i know this because it was announced in the Liverpool mercury paper.
Now on the IGI it has some births between Elizabeth and Thomas in Newton-Stewart in Scotland (which it also mentioned he was from there in the paper)
Thomas was a wine and spirit merchant.
I then checked the scottish census for Thomas and found him on the 1861 living with two woman named Elizabeth and Hannah Robertson who were down as his sisters.
On the 1871 census he was with his wife who was named JANE.
Now unless Elizabeth died within the first 8 years of marriage then it looks like Thomas has two wives.
Can somebody please see if there was a death for an Elizabeth McQueen Robertson MMN Broadfoot between 1865-71 as the last known birth of a child for the pair was 1865?
Thankyou
Danny
