                Thanks for your ideas.

                Charles had a variety of occupations, he began as a van boy, then got this job as a scaleman, then he was a wharf labourer, then he was a confectioner, then a mineral water salesman, before going to Manchester to work for R White's soft drinks, returning to London to buy a pub.
