On 1841, the Pixtons are shown as Pickston
        HO107/98/8 fo 7 p 10
With Ralph and Mary and 3 children - including an older one than shows in 1851.
There's also James Law staying with them. He's aged 19. Thomas isn't with them

If you can work out which Civil Parish I should be looking at, I might be able to look through the Hargrave pages to see if Thomas is there in 1841.

According to Genuki, I should have been looking for Foulk Stapleford as part of Tarvin. Well I found it, but couldn't see anyone with surname LAW (or anything much like it).

When you're looking, yourself, don't forget that "Ellen" is a chameleon name. It also appears as Helen, Eleanor - and variations of those spellings. And Thomas gets abbreviated to Thos.

Hi Christine, thanks for your help. This 41 census is key to me. Thomas's son Peter was born Clotton, part of Tarvin. I can't find Peter either, as 41 he was unmarried. I know Ellen has variants same as Thomas, just wish they would stick to the same names!!!
