  • southern counties asylum dumfries scotland

After looking for James and Elliot Broadfoot on the census and having no luck i decided to look for their brother Peter born in 1821 in Whithorn Scotland.

I found a possible on the 1841 but it has no image and he seems to be with another family.
Then on the 1851 and 71 census i found a peter born in Whithorn in 1821 who was a Sailor and i think mistranscribed as a Teaman (Seaman) as a Patient in the above Asylum.
How could i find out if i could find records for him? Or do you think that they would no longer exsist?

Looks to me like he was a patient in 1851 then perhaps back out at sea in 1861 as i cant find him anywhere and then back as a patient in 1871 and i assume he died before 1881 as i cant find him again.

Think this is the right Archives for Whithorn, if not I have a hand out with the others in Scotlands -- don't know if they are on Wiki
