What I have is some notes sent me by a friend researching the same line

He has Eliza Maud Gray born DEC 1888 Lambeth 1d 479 Father Henry Gray Mother Mary Dainty

I have Maud Eliza Gray Dec 1890 Poplar 1c 611

In June 1910 he has Maud Eliza Gray married (Southwark 1d 143) but father is given as Mathew Gray deceased From FreeBMD.

So we want a Maud Eliza with father Matthew (Mathew?) even if it doesn't fit the above birth registrations?

Do you know how old Maud said she was when she married in 1910?

James, it looks like the Poplar baby died:

              Deaths Dec 1890
              Gray Maud Eliza 0 Poplar 1c 530

Marriage witnesses to marriage where Richard and Sarah Ramswell

As Maud Eliza Gray died as a baby the rules her out

Maud Eliza was aged 22 at wedding

I looked at Deaths for Mat(t)hew Gray 1885-1910. Most are well away from London or very old (in their 80's).....except this one:

                  Deaths Sep 1888
                  Gray Matthew 25 Poplar 1c 381

                  Bloomin' Poplar again!! lol

Having looked at the 1881 census the best fit to be the above is 17 years old and living in Lambeth. Unmarried and with his parents. There are no marriages for a Mat(t)hew Gray in the London area between 1881 and 1888.

Suppose I could try Grey next.

Are they the groom's family then?

Thanks for your efforts Merry, I will get to my friend and maybe he can resolve the discrepancy.
The witnesses where as far as I can see
                      1. Richard is his father
                      2 Sarah is his sister
