What did this mean ??

Hi all,


Can you tell me is this normal.

Turned PC on and staight away before i logged on......got a blue screen telling me not to cancel .

"Checking Consistency File NTFS"

mentioned deleting files...orphaned files.

and then some thing about Diretory files 139374.


Do any of you know what this means.........after it had deleted and other stuff it just went to the normal sreen!!

It thinks that it wasn't shutdown properly, so it is just checking to make sure everything is OK.

Sounds like a chkdsk to me and it's likely to have been run for the reasons cited by Wendy.

It's just your PC moaning it wasn't shut down properly no cause for concern. Mine did it all the while as i could not be bovered to wait for the shut down to happen until i found out how to turn it off and now do it manually
