  • Birth cert Middlesex

;)Hi, I am hoping to buy a birth cert for Sarah A Gurney bc 1855 Middlesex. I can't find an obvious one, so I would appreciate a second pair of eyes please.

    Thank you very much

Do you have some more specific than born Middlesex - possibly from a later census return.

Treesa - how accurate is your estimated date of birth? And have you found her in later censuses to confirm her name and birthplace?

        Is this her in 1861?

        RG9; Piece: 785; Folio: 34; Page: 22. Willesden, Middlesex

If so it shows born London, Middlesex 1855 - I hate those ;)

          Hi

on census 71 it states bc 1855 St John's wood (servant) 61 bc 1855 Middlesex london. Death says bc 1855 also.

and a possible marriage for that family from freeBMD is

            Marriages Mar 1856
            Beeforth Elizabeth
            Gurney Henry
            Hampstead 1a 705

so she may have been born Beeforth

            again from freeBMD

            Births Dec 1854
            Beeforth Sarah Ann
            S Giles 1b 332

Do you know if the 1861 census is the right one?

I know her father is henry from IGI marriage stating father, which I was lucky to get.

If she is the Sarah Gurney on the 1861 census then it looks as if she was born before Henry and Elizabeth were married as I cannot find another marriage on freeBMD for a Henry Gurney spouse Elizabeth before 1855 (or at least within the Middlesex region).

I have found a later birth but think that she may now have been born before the parents married. Buying the cert will confirm this I suppose.

It will certainly help you to work out what's going on. Or it may turn out to be the wrong person's birth.

I will order the cert as it will say one way or the other if it is the correct one. If wrong it will have to be a later birth then.

Thanks very much for all your help, the one thing I never thought of was to look under beeforth, silly me!!!!1
