    Hi

    Could some very kind soul help me with a lookup?

    I am looking for John and Sarah Beeforth on the 51 census, John bc 1801 Middlesex, Sarah bc 1808 Middlesex.

    Thanks in advance,

    Any children likely to be with them?
    Have you found them in 1861 - if so do you have the reference?

      I can see a John & Sarah Beeforth in 1861
      RG9; Piece: 92; Folio: 146; Page: 55;

      this seems to be the same family in 1851 - transcribed as Beeford
      HO107; Piece: 1492; Folio: 249; Page: 7

      ... but wife Susan born in Bucks in both.

      Is this the family you are looking for?

        Are you sure that Sarah was born Middlesex? Cos there's this one...transcribed Beeford...but says Sarah was born Bucks...

            Hi, wow thanks for your replies.

            I have just checked and I am not sure if Sarah was b M/sex. I just know that they had a daughter Elizabeth bc 1836, so if any have her on also, then I would be pleased if she was found too.

              Neither of those have Elizabeth listed, but she may have left home by the 1851 census.

              What do you know about Elizabeth - where was she born?
              How do you know the names of her parents.
              Have you got a marriage certificate which gives her father's name/occupation?
              Have you found her on the 1841 census - if so reference please.

                There is an 1841 census for

                John Baforth 40 - occupation cordwainer
                Sarah Baforth 34
                Elizabeth Baforth 7
                Emma Baforth 5
                Mary Ann Baforth 9
                Sarah Baforth 13

                Class: HO107; Piece 674; Book: 8; Civil Parish: St John Hampstead; County: Middlesex; Enumeration District: 11; Folio: 9; Page: 9;

                This seems to match the family found in the 1851 and 1861 censuses above.

                Do you need transcriptions?

                  Elizabeth married 1856 to Henry Gurney. I don't have her marriage cert. She was born Hampstead, Middlesex. From findmypast I saw a 41 census with possibly Elizabeth on with parents John and Sarah, the age of Sarah was close. I haven't actually seen the census as I am not subscribed to findmypast.

                                Thank you so much, that is fantastic!!!

                                Does it say what relationship the young ones are to John and Sarah on the 61 census, are they Grandchildren?

                                Do I need to post a new lookup to look for Elizabeth bc 1836?

                                  Sorry - should have said.
                                  Sarah and Eliza on the 1861 census are listed as grandchildren.

                                  Keep it all on this thread -
                                  presume you want Elizabeth in 1851 - will have a look for you.
