  • Jennings from Somerset

I have the marriage certificate of my 2 X Gt Grandparents,
    ELIZABETH JENNINGS & William Perris

They were married in the Parish Church of West Monkton Somerset in May 1842.

Her father is recorded as SAMUEL JENNINGS, a labourer.

Witnesses: WILLIAM JENNINGS (probably the bride's brother or an uncle) and Mary Ann Harfice...well it looks like Harfice anyway!

ELIZABETH JENNINGS was born c.1820 Wellington Somerset according to all census records from 1851 onwards.

I've been trying to find the family on the 1841 census records without any success...

Can anybody help or have you got these names in your tree???

    Many thanks...

I've no idea whether this is likely to be the right place but in 1841 there is a Samuel Jennings with an Elizabeth of the right age and also a Will who could be her brother.

Little Nell.....I've got no idea if Samuel Jennings had any more children.

Thank you Jane..I will have a look at that one on the 1841 census.
