I know very little about Indian genealogy, except that it is notoriously difficult to research native Indian genealogy and I doubt if you can do it on the Internet. (I am assuming, with a name like that, he is an Indian native?)
Only males are recorded, by clerks who operate in the ancestral villages of the male. You have to visit in person to see these records.
If he was a Christian then he MAY be recorded in one of the few Christian churches.
As I said though - I know next to nothing about researching in India - hopefully someone will come along with more useful information than mine!

Saba - if you get a chance to catch the TV repeats of Who do you think you are, there have been two or three with Indian ancestry. One was Meera Syal, who did go back to her ancestral village and found the family scroll. Another was Alistair McGowan, but I seem to remember his ancestors were Christians and the records were different.Uncle John - Passed away March 2020

Don't forget that the name is usually spelt Mir Alam so that in most search engines you would need to spell it that way to get a match, i.e. with a space between the two parts of the name. It might well be listed under "A" for Alam rather than under "M" in many databases.KiteRunner
