Following Nell's advice to look back for missing details, I decided to look for William in 1901, as I already knew where his mother & brothers were, but I still can't find him :( I think I have found a marriage for him in Hackney 1897, to either Emily Budden Smith or Sarah Ann Buxton, but I still can't find him. He was born c1876 in Clerkenwell, I would be grateful if someone could find him for me please

That particular battalion of the Imperial Yeomanry was posted out to S.A April 1900 so members would have been absent from 1901 census. However it is a Pembrokeshire battalion (though not sure if that really is significant soldiers could and regularly were attached or posted to other regiments).
By the way service records for Imperial Yeomanry do exist and are available to view at N.A, may shed more light.
