Hi all
I managed to go back another generation with my Broadfoot's when i found Commander Broadfoot's father Alexander Broadfoot who on the 1841 scottish census has Coastguard Superannuation Fund as his occupation. And on the 1851 census is down as Retired Coastguard.
Does anyone know where i can get any information on him please?
And out of intrest it also said on his monument in St ninians churchyard that he lost another 2 son's to the sea, 1 by the name of Elliot Broadfoot who died at sea on the 30th november 1847 aged 29 and James who drowned off the coast of Syria on the 6th of september 1841 aged 27.
Considering they all decided to do something with the sea, they didnt have much luck with the sea mistress.
Danny
