  • help with address in Dublin

I have finally received a marriage certificate from Ireland.I had hoped that it would say Gr Grandad was in the army and that was why he was marrying in Dublin. No such luck, he was a cabinet maker which does not help me. He was living at the same address as the lady he married. It is not at all clear on the certificate.I cannot scan it but it looks like 57 James Lane. Does anyone know if there was a James Lane in 1847 in Dublin
Her father was on the certificate as a printer. Was this a good trade?

There was a James Lane there in 1862, so I should think it's a fair bet it was there 15 years earlier:

    Dublin Street Directory, 1862

I believe it was a good trade to be a printer - it would have been a skilled job.

Thank you Mary. I wondered if I had read it right
