  • For Chrissy. Answer to question one

    where was George in 1851?

    Being awkward and not using his W., but this might be your George W Harrison in 1851
    HO107; Piece: 1495; Folio: 360; Page: 3;
    George Harrison 26 married footman b. Pancras and working in Grays Inn area of London.

    Conjecture, but if he is working as a footman, he may well have met Hannah when they worked in the same, or nearby, houses.I have a gt gt grandfather who was a footman (having moved from Chelmsford to Putney). His wife and eldest child are living in Richmond, Surrey in 1861 whilst he is on the coast working as a butler. He later became a lodging house keeper and then a beadle.
