For some reason my computer wouldn't start up this morning.
On switching on it "stuck" on a blank screeen with just the microsoft logo scrolling across it ie windows wouldn't load. I had to turn off at the power button and tried restaring several times. It then gave me an option of running start up repair which I did twice and then CHKDSK?. After a few attempts I managed to get it to load. It has done this a couple of times before but never this bad. I haven't installed any new hardware and the only software change has been uninstalling and reinstalling Norton360 and the start up problem occurred before that. The computer is only about 1 year old so what do you think is causing this?

Sounds as though it could be a hardware problem of some kind. Did the CHKDSK find any problems?

I didn't see any problems but then I don't really understand what CHKDSK does. However it was after it ran this that it did eventually start up.
