    James could be 10 I think - it's difficult to say whether it's a skinny 0, or a scruffy 1
John - I think it's 2 not 4, judging by others on page.

      not easy is it !

I think James could be 10 or 11 and John looks more like 2 than 4

Grace could be 71 (can't tell what else is written there)

      John looks like 63

      Elizabeth possibly 4

(I didn't look at the transcriptions before forming an opinion)

Grace - I agree 71, but no idea what the bit on the left in the age box is about!

        John - agree 63

        Elizabeth - 4

I haven't read the other replies or looked at the transcriptions:

          James 10
          John 2

(though whether the description of "son" is correct for John is Jane is his mother could be doubtful!)

Grace, 71? I think the 11 refers to the number of women in the column and is also written correctly underneath.

          John 63

          Elizabeth 4

Oooh I didn't look at Elizabeth's mother too, but you are right!

I see there are two possible birth registrations for John (both Q4 1848) and one for Elizabeth in Q2 1846.
